A Wrap or a Roll? Why Not Both at Hog Roast Liverpool!

One of the biggest debates that seems to creep up in the UK every so often is which kind of roll is the best. In Scotland they scream blue about their superior morning rolls, or their well-fired rolls, whereas closer to Yorkshire you’re going to find breadcakes take the winner, or in Manchester residents will fight hard for their more floury barm cakes.

But at Hog Roast Liverpool we’re not quite so interested in which kind of roll you champion. Instead, our question is one of one of two sides: do you want a roll or a wrap with your hog roast?

As a caterer, Hog Roast Liverpool specialises in our signature hog roast; our pork comes off the bone so perfectly after the many hours our pig spends turning andHog Roast Liverpool roasting on our state-of-the-art spit roaster, making it perfect for use as a filling. The question is, is that a filling for a roll, or a wrap? We don’t like to take sides here; in our opinion both are equally viable options for your catered event, which is precisely why we offer our gluten-free versions of both. But some customers will have strong opinions on which it should be.

With a roll you are often getting something that feels more substantial. A roll can be nice and thick, dense, perfectly crusty on the top if made a certain way. This lends itself well to our more tender pulled pork; you’re getting that excellent texturing between tender and juicy to the thicker bread. Plus, with a roll you can pile up the way. Chuck on some of our golden crackling for even more texture; mix in our sage and onions stuffing for more flavour, double up with another roasted meat, and douse the whole thing in our delicious apple sauce. The only barrier is just how high you think you can handle your roll.

The wrap, meanwhile, might be a bit lighter. It is better for those warmer and sunnier days, and you can fill the wrap with a variety of contents before rolling it up nice and tight, or even leaving it looser if your prefer.

We won’t judge which way you choose with Hog Roast Liverpool. Grab one, or grab both, at your next event with us!
