Keen to make the most of the lovely summer weather, Richard recently got in touch with the Hog Roast Alton team to organise a slap-up meal for the Blacknest Golf and Country Club. After discussing our varied and extensive menu options and catering packages with our friendly customer service team, Richard decided that a more formal outdoor buffet would be the most appropriate for the event he had planned, and so with expert catering manager Martin placed in charge, the team got started on preparations right away.
On the day of the event, the sun was still high in the sky when the Hog Roast Alton team made their way to the golf club in the early evening where they quickly threw themselves into setting up their gazebos and bringing our well-loved menu to life. Using our Hog Master Pro, the crew began by sizzling the main attraction – a whole slow roasted pig served with apple sauce, stuffing and of course, some perfectly crispy crackling! Soon, tantalising scents of juicy sausages, rosemary seasoned spring lamb with a sprig of mint and a mustard and dill sauce, and locally sourced free-range roasted chicken with homemade onion gravy filled the air and the guests queued up to fill their plates. As well as the succulent meat-based dishes, the team had whipped up side options of golden chips, warm new potatoes in a herb butter and for vegetarians, there were grilled vegetable and haloumi skewers with pitta breads and tzatziki dip.
There was more than enough food to go around for all 60 guests, and Richard was very impressed with the service offered by the Hog Roast Alton crew and as the night drew to a close, the atmosphere was still buzzing with energy.
