Hog Roast Birmingham cater for any and all events and this weekend was no different! Natasha had booked us to cater at her granddaughter, Aurelia’s christening. With the ceremony taking place late morning, we were asked to prepare a lunchtime meal for the family and their guests.
We arrived at the church hall bright and early to get started on our Hog Roast Birmingham meal for the day. For this special occasion, we were preparing a shoulder of lamb seasoned with rosemary and garlic and a side of beef which we would be cooking low and slow for several hours whilst the christening was taking place. Our accompaniments would be roasted new potatoes served with a garlic sauce and lots of roasted seasonal vegetables along with a couple of our signature salads for good measure. Natasha had also asked us to prepare a vegetarian option of halloumi and roasted vegetable quiche along with some mushroom burgers which our chef designed especially for today’s event. Of course, no christening would be complete without a spectacular christening cake. Aurelia’s cake had been designed by a friend of the family who was a baker and featured a royal icing figurine of Aurelia herself in her stunning ivory christening dress.
The church hall had been beautifully decorated by the family beforehand with photographs of Aurelia and lots of streamers and balloons. The whole Hog Roast Birmingham team couldn’t wait to finally get to meet the gorgeous girl herself.
With our food all prepared and ready the guests arrived, led by Natasha and Aurelia’s mother, Lilly. Lilly hadn’t been involved in the planning of the christening party as her mum had insisted on planning it, so she welled up when she saw all the effort that Natasha had gone to and was overwhelmed that she had also hired us to cater.
We had a lovely afternoon at the christening and made sure we left a couple of our business cards around for the guests as the food seemed to go down a treat!
