Whether it be a small and intimate ceremony or an extravagant affair with all the trimmings, a wedding is right up there among the most special days a couple can celebrate; and being in the thick of wedding season right now means that the Hog Roast Melton Mowbray catering crew have been rushed off their feet with bookings. Most recently, the team found themselves rocking up to the historic, late-16th-century manor house Brooksby Hall (which has earned a name for itself as a prime spot for brides and grooms looking to tie the knot in style) to help one loved-up couple celebrate their nuptials.
Ahead of their big day, the pair got in contact with Hog Roast Melton Mowbray’s knowledgeable catering manager Rob who was more than happy to discuss the details for the big event; and after outlining their strict dietary needs, it was decided that with a few minor tweaks our wedding menu 2 would be best suited to the traditional style affair. Also hoping to put their minds at ease that the day would run as smoothly as clockwork, Rob came up with a serving timetable leaving two-hour windows between courses giving the 150 guests time to relax and take pictures which the couple thought was perfect.
When the big day finally arrived, the Hog Roast Melton Mowbray team, headed by Rob, made their way to the wedding venue six hours in advance which gave them just enough time to pitch the catering gazebos on the freshly manicured lawn and prepare the afternoon’s feast for the guests. When the clock struck 3, the newly-married couple appeared arm-in-arm and while preparing for their closeup, the event staff served reception drinks and gluten-free canapes of fillet of beef, haloumi kebabs, mini quiche and an Indian selection to the hungry guests which made them even more excited for the evening buffet.
The finishing touches were soon added to the main course and after each collecting a plate from the towers of China crockery, the wedding guests helped themselves to the whole slow-roasted pig and free-range chickens which were paired with stuffing, crispy crackling, roasted potatoes, crunchy coleslaw and leafy salads. The food went down a storm and as the evening drew to a close, guests headed into the Old Hall where they were met with a well-received buffet of tea, coffee and a delicious lactose-free wedding cake.
