Hog Roast Tunbridge Wells has catered in many different locations over the years, including customers’ back gardens, hotels, private businesses, schools and village halls, but one we catered recently used to be a public toilet! Tunbridge Wells Forum, also known as The Forum, is now an independent music venue but was once a public loo and a brass rubbing centre (though presumably not at the same time!) The Tunbridge Wells Forum can be found on The Common on London Road, which is local to us.
For a joint 50th and 60th birthday celebration with 230 guests invited, we were asked by Paul to cook our hugely popular Menu 1 of hog roast rolls, which we call pigs in buns, as well as a vegetarian option. We’ve spent many years perfecting our hog roast centrepieces and our pigs in buns are delicious pieces of heaven, which we make by preparing and then cooking a hog at your venue, slowly for several hours, until we get a juicy, tender inside and a crispy, salty outside.
For the vegetarian option, we were asked to grill veggie skewers, which are undoubtedly our most popular veggie option, and can even be made vegan. For vegetarians, we add chunky halloumi pieces and various vegetables like mushrooms, tomatoes, peppers, courgette, and red onion to the skewers, and just omit the cheese to make vegan instead. Paul also asked us to provide a mixed salad and our homemade coleslaw, which we put together fresh on the day.
Our Chef Paul and his Hog Roast Tunbridge Wells team arrived at The Forum hours before serving time on the day, to prepare and roast the hog. Once the hog was sizzling, we kept an eye on it to make sure it cooked through and through and a few hours later, everything was ready and the queues began.
If you’re organising an event or party and you’re not sure if we can cater at the venue of your choice, it’s clear that Hog Roast Tunbridge Wells can cater just about anywhere – even an old public toilet! So get in touch today and see what we can do for you.
