What a venue…. Spitting Pig Essex were asked to cater for the lovely Ted’s 18 year old granddaughters birthday party. The venue was his beautiful family home with its own nightclub and bar, what could be better than having your own nightclub in your house! The theme for the night was Las Vegas with all the decorations in black and white so our pop up kitchen fitted in with the theme perfectly. On the menu for the evening was a delicious spit roasted hog roast Sewardstone cooked from fresh to perfection on site with all the trimmings as well as homemade coleslaw, green leaf salad and Halloumi Pitta’s with homemade tzatziki. The SPE team arrived on site to set up at lunch time as we had a serve time of 9pm so we had plenty of time to cook the hog and prep all of the extras. The guests started to arrive at 7.30 and were excited to see the hog roast Sewardstone spitting, they mentioned that they could smell something gorgeous cooking whist walking up to the house but had no idea it was a hog. With the party starting to liven up and the music getting louder and louder we started to carve the hog ready for the serving. As this was an 18th Birthday Party we decided to provide more BBQ pulled pork than we would normally as it always goes down a treat with the younger generation, lucky we did as it was everyone’s favourite with our own blend of BBQ sauce made to our very own secret recipe. Some of the guests came back for 2nds and in some cases even 3rds! The whole event was a great success, the food went down a storm, we had lots of compliments, and to top it off our business cards were snapped up.
