Having established themselves in the butchery business in 1908, that means The Proud Sow has been supplying food for over 110 years now! The Proud Sow’s butcher in residence, Oliver Khaldi, took over from long-standing owner Peter James in recent years, and now provides the community with all kinds of meat, particularly specialising in free-range English meat.
The Proud Sow, based in Crofton Park, came to us for a hog roasting machine that would cook different kinds of meat and were very impressed when they used it to cook 32 whole chickens and a whole heap of potatoes at the same time. You can use one of our highly versatile machines to cook much more than just a slab of meat of your choice if you prefer. You could cook a leg of lamb, a whole turkey or a hunk of hog at the top of the machine, for instance, while trays of vegetables and potatoes roast away beneath.
